Seeing God in All Creation
The Marianist Retreat and Conference Center is thrilled to be offering a weekend retreat for anyone and everyone who is interested! The theme of this retreat is “Seeing God in All Creation” and this retreat will be based upon Laudato Si, a Latin phrase that means “Praised Be” – and Laudato Si is also the name of Pope Francis’ second encyclical letter, which is subtitled “on care for our common home.” The encyclical, and therefore this retreat, is addressed to “every person living on this planet” and calls for urgent action to protect the Earth from human damage, while identifying the current ecological crisis as a “summons to profound interior conversion.”
Beginning at 7 pm on Friday evening October 11, and ending at 11 am on Sunday, October 13, this retreat will include large group presentations, small group discussion, four meals (three on Saturday and one on Sunday), and plenty of time to enjoy our beautiful grounds. We are located on 120 acres in Wildwood, MO and offers ample opportunities to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation through personal reflection, outdoor prayer experiences, and hiking.
Our retreat leader is Diana Gorham, a seasoned retreat leader and a vowed Lay Marianist. She and her team will explore seeing God in creation from a Catholic, Biblical, and Marianist perspective, though all are welcome, regardless of worldview.
Diana will be joined Eileen Wolfington (M. Ed., Self Care Facilitator).
The cost of this retreat is $285 for a single room or $375 for a married couple sharing a room. Our registration deadline has passed; we are no longer accepting registrations.
