Women’s Retreat 2024: St. Joseph, Pray for Us!

Please join us the weekend of February 16-18, 2024 for our annual women’s retreat which our retreat center is co-sponsoring with St. Alban Roe Parish. The theme is “St. Joseph, Pray For Us!”

St. Joseph is known as the patron saint of many things:  foster parents, carpenters, a happy death. This weekend retreat will focus on the person of Joseph in his multiple dimensions, many of which we rarely consider. What was Joseph’s family history like? What was his life of prayer and faith like? How might he have understood his own role in salvation history? As we explore and reflect on these characteristics of Joseph, the retreat will also invite us to ponder how Joseph might be a source of inspiration, intercession, and hope for us, too, in our life journeys with Jesus the Christ.

Our presenter for this retreat is Virginia Herbers: a teacher, author, and spiritual director who was born and raised in South City, St. Louis. She has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in theological studies. She has ministered most of her life as an educator, teaching students of every age from kindergarten through university level in Missouri, New York, Connecticut, and Taiwan. Currently she works at Saint Louis University as the Director of Mission Formation for faculty and staff. Virginia has offered spiritual direction and retreat facilitation for several years and currently serves on the preaching team of several St. Louis retreat centers. Her third book, entitled Gifts from Friends We Never Wanted, is due to come out in 2024.

This weekend retreat will begin at 7 pm on Friday night (doors will open at 6:00pm) and will conclude after brunch on Sunday.

The cost for the entire retreat is $250 per person, which includes all presentations, accommodations, four delicious meals (three on Saturday, brunch on Sunday), and the use of our entire retreat facility and beautiful, holy grounds.
