SUMMARY:Women's Retreat 2024: St. Joseph\, Pray for Us!
DESCRIPTION:Please join us the weekend of February 16-18\, 2024 for our
annual women’s retreat which our retreat center is co-sponsoring with
St. Alban Roe Parish. The theme is "St. Joseph\, Pray For Us!"\nSt. Jose
ph is known as the patron saint of many things:  foster parents\, carpe
nters\, a happy death. This weekend retreat will focus on the person of
Joseph in his multiple dimensions\, many of which we rarely consider. Wh
at was Joseph’s family history like? What was his life of prayer and f
aith like? How might he have understood his own role in salvation histor
y? As we explore and reflect on these characteristics of Joseph\, the re
treat will also invite us to ponder how Joseph might be a source of insp
iration\, intercession\, and hope for us\, too\, in our life journeys wi
th Jesus the Christ.\n\nOur presenter for this retreat is Virginia Herbe
rs: a teacher\, author\, and spiritual director who was born and raised
in South City\, St. Louis. She has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics
and a master’s degree in theological studies. She has ministered most
of her life as an educator\, teaching students of every age from kinderg
arten through university level in Missouri\, New York\, Connecticut\, an
d Taiwan. Currently she works at Saint Louis University as the Director
of Mission Formation for faculty and staff. Virginia has offered spiritu
al direction and retreat facilitation for several years and currently se
rves on the preaching team of several St. Louis retreat centers. Her thi
rd book\, entitled Gifts from Friends We Never Wanted\, is due to come o
ut in 2024.\nThis weekend retreat will begin at 7 pm on Friday night (do
ors will open at 6:00pm) and will conclude after brunch on Sunday.\nThe
cost for the entire retreat is $250 per person\, which includes all pres
 entations\, accommodations\, four delicious meals (three on Saturday\, b
runch on Sunday)\, and the use of our entire retreat facility and beauti
ful\, holy grounds.\nTo register for this retreat\, please send an email
to jennifer@dkw.bgt.mybluehost.me/website_a2fe014d and she can invoice
you for the event using Quickbooks\, which is our financial management s
 oftware.
