Coming Home to Christ: The Journey Together

December 8-10, 2023

This weekend retreat in early Advent (Friday evening through Sunday after lunch) will focus on our personal relationship with Christ, the still-point in an ever-turning world that often leaves us feeling confused, disconnected, lonely and lost. Through scripture-opening teaching, experiences of various kinds of contemplative prayer, quiet reflection and small group sharing, the retreat will encourage those present to consider what it means to embrace Jesus as their center and true home. The weekend will include time and space for both silence and fellowship.

Rev. Tom Santen has been priest of the Archdiocese of St. Louis for 53 years. He has served as a parish priest (including 18 years as pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Manchester, MO), a high school religion teacher, a college campus minister, a youth retreat director, spiritual director, director of continuing formation of priests, and personnel director for priests. He has been involved in retreat work throughout his priesthood. He is “retired” and living at St. Simon the Apostle parish, serving as the Holy Spirit beckons him.

Lucia Signorelli is a spiritual director who has served as a retreat director, coach, and a long-time educator. Her Catholic education ministry included teaching junior and senior high school, elementary school administration and serving as Regional Director of Schools for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Steve Givens is a retreat and spiritual director, a widely published writer on issues of faith and spirituality, and a prayer companion for those praying the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. He serves as executive director of the Bridges Foundation, which offers the Spiritual Exercises in the greater St. Louis region.
